The Designated Conference Hotel is the Delta Chelsea Inn (see map). The IASSIST rate for a standard room is $139.00 single/double; mention your group affiliation (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology) or Q-name (GEIAST) when making reservations. One of these must be mentioned to obtain the special rate.

Reservations must be made by April 24, 1999 to ensure a reservation at the conference rate.

How to reach the Delta Chelsea

• From the airport:
  Airport Express buses can be boarded at all three terminals and all stop at the Delta Chelsea. Tickets can be bought at all three terminals, the ticket office is outside at some terminals.

  The buses leave every 20 minutes from the airport between 06:25 and 00:55. Allow an hour for the trip to the hotel, although the time may be less, depending on the time of day (i.e., outside of rush hours) and the terminal you are leaving from.

  FARE:

  • One way: $12.50 Canadian
  • Return: $21.50 Canadian -- valid for one year

  TAXIS -- one-way fare is about CDN$35. The trip takes about an hour.
  
  

• From the train station:
  Toronto's main railway station is Union Station. From Union Station take the subway four stops north to College Street (on the line that goes north to Finch station). The single-ticket fare is CDN$2.00. The Delta Chelsea is one block south of College Street, on Gerrard Street, to the west of Yonge Street.
  
  
• Leaving for airport:
  Buses leave the Delta Chelsea every 20 minutes between 05:00 and 23:00, and it takes at least one hour to get to the airport. Call (416) 861-1234 for a reservation. Call (905) 564-6333 for more details

Student residence accommodation is available at Pitman Hall at Ryerson Polytechnic University [map location]. Mention you are with IASSIST, and the daily rate is Can$50.12 -- $44.75 + $5.37 (12%) tax. A reservation form is available.

• From the airport:
  • The Airport Express bus (see above) will, upon request, stop at Pitman Hall.
    
    
  • Taxi fare (one way) is about CDN$35. The trip takes about an hour.
• From the train station:
  Toronto's main railway station is Union Station. From Union Station take the subway four stops north to College Street (on the line that goes north to Finch station). The fare is CDN$2.00. Walk south on Yonge Street and turn left (east) on Gerrard Street. Walk two blocks and turn right (south) on to Church Street. Pitman Hall is on the left just before Gould Street .
