No trip to Ontario would be complete without a visit to Niagara Falls and the surrounding region. Embark on this fully conducted tour to one of Canada's most unique areas - The Niagara Peninsula. With a blend of contemporary man-made achievement and nature's own beauty and wonder, the region is truly an Ontario jewel.

Traveling towards Niagara, around the western perimeter of Lake Ontario, the group will see the industrial heartland outside Toronto. As you move through one small city after another, the beautiful Niagara Escarpment will slowly come into view. Its sheltering ridge has been the reason for the area's productive vineyards and fruit orchards which yield some of the world's finest wines, jams and fruit nectars.

Since the early 1820's, millions of visitors have been attracted to Niagara Falls. The Falls are awe-inspiring and your group will not be disappointed as we lead them to a vantage point just steps away from the brink of the Canadian "Horseshoe Falls".

From Niagara Falls the group will drive to the Hildebrand Estate Winery for a tour and tasting, followed by lunch which includes a glass of wine. Hillebrand Estates is one of the newer wineries to the area but already has a growing list of award-winning wines. An informative guide will explain Hillebrand's German style processing followed by a wine tasting. Browse through the wine shop on your way out for a souvenir.

After lunch the tour will stop at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory on the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is one of the largest indoor butterfly exhibits in North America. Wander along 55.75 meters of glass enclosed pathways, through 2,000 international butterflies, granite rock and tropical flowers. As visitors to this natural splendor, you will be given the opportunity to come face to face with 55 species of tropical and native butterflies and witness their emergence through spectacular viewing windows.

In addition to the conservatory lies a lush garden of nectar and food plants which serve as nesting ground for a number of native butterflies. While on site, feel free to visit the auditorium or one of two 40-seat theatres to take part in informative presentations and interpretive programs or browse through the gift shop where you will find a variety of momentos from this fascinating exhibit.

After the Butterfly conservatory, the tour will continue on to Niagara-on-the-Lake, a charming town considered to be one of the prettiest in Ontario. You will delight in shopping at the quaint craft and specialty shops. This town is absolutely lovely and it will transport you to a more genteel period in our history. It has also gained a reputation for its fudge so be sure to visit the fudge factory on the main street and sample some flavours. It's delicious!
